Antony Anderson is an American visual artist, born and raised on the western plains of rural Minnesota. His minimal, conceptually-driven compositions utilize optics, light, and color to model and confound the ways in which systems inform and affect culture. Currently based in Chicago, Antony has lived, worked, and exhibited throughout the United States.
Antony’s current work utilizes documentary-style photography to record and disseminate images of the American built environment. These photographs explore the outwardly performative nature of political and personal identity as it relates to place, patriotism, vernacular, and the country’s contentious political and social landscape.
